Colleges use the Credential File electronic system to manage student data and automate certain career center functions. Career center staff and administrators from your school along with Site administrators may have the ability to access, edit and use some or all of your personal information on the Site, including, but not limited to, and without limitation, the ability to send you e-mails, and send your credential file to employers. Your school's career center and the activities and practices of its staff and administrators are not subject to this Privacy Policy, and we are not responsible for what they do with personal information about you, which is available or accessible to them on or through the Site. If you have questions regarding the practices and policies of your school's career center with respect to your personal information, we recommend that you contact them directly. We may make content or services from other web sites available to you from links located on the Site. These other web sites are not subject to this Privacy Policy. We recommend that you review the privacy policy at each such web site to determine how that site protects your privacy. Personally Identifiable Information We Collect We receive and collect personally identifiable information about individual Users of our site (such as name, contact information, demographic information, academic history, etc.): From your college or university career center; and From you, on a strictly voluntary basis, by specifically requesting it from you (i) when you register on the site, (ii) when you complete or edit your student profile, (iii) when you use or register for certain products and services, (iv) when you respond to surveys or questionnaires, and (v) when you enter or sign up for promotions or contests. From you, on a strictly voluntary basis, if and when you choose to upload resumes, cover letters, writing samples and other documents to the Site which contain personal information about you. Do we need to put in anything about CC information collected and how it is used?? We may also ask you for other information from time to time, which you may choose to provide or not to provide at your sole discretion, such as information regarding your personal experiences, interests and preferences, your views on career related topics and other selected issues, your opinion regarding various features of our site, the types of jobs you are interested in, etc. In certain instances, personally identifiable information with respect to Users may also be received from one or more of our other business partners. How We Use Personally Identifiable Information Collected Except as described in this Privacy Policy, we do not disclose, display or share your personal information to or with third parties without your permission. We use personally identifying information we collect on the Site for the following purposes: To enable you to access and utilize the various tools, features and functionality of the Site, such as applying for jobs, uploading documents. If you choose to publish your resume or any other document containing personal information, your personal profile information and resume will be accessible to your school’s career center. While we endeavor to restrict access to these databases to eligible employers, we cannot guarantee that other parties will not, without our consent, gain access to these databases as well. You may remove your resume from this Site at any time. However, employers and recruiters who have received, and other parties who have otherwise gained access to your files, may have retained a copy of your resume in their own files or databases. We are not responsible for the retention, use or privacy of resumes in these instances, or for the use or privacy of resumes or other personal information of Users by any of such parties when such resumes or personal information have been sent to employers. Such personal information will only be sent to employers at User’s request. With your permission, we may use your e-mail address and other contact information to send you articles, profiles, industry news and other career related information, as well as to notify you of special promotions or additional products and services offered by us or our business partners that may be of interest to you. With your permission, we may also share your personal information with our business partners and other third parties to enable them to contact you regarding special promotions, products and services they offer which may be of interest to you. You have the ability to opt-out of these types of communications at any time (see "Opt-in/Opt-out Policy" below). We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Site. These companies may use information (not including your name, address email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples may include hosting our web servers, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments, and providing customer service. These other companies will have access to your personal information as necessary to perform their functions, but they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information and are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide service. Updating Account Information This Credential File service allows you to change or correct your personal information at any time. To do so, simply log in to your Credential File account, go to your student profile, and you will find options for editing the information you have submitted. Opt-In/Opt-Out Policy When you complete your profile on the Site, you may be presented with a series of choices regarding whether you want to participate in this service and whether you want to receive certain types of communications from us and/or our business partners. If you do not wish to participate or to receive any or all of such communications, you may opt-out by responding "no" or clicking the appropriate opt-out box. If after opting-in to any promotions or to receive communications from us and/or our business partners, you wish to opt-out from receiving future communications, you may do so at any time. To do so, simply log in to your Credential File account, go to your student profile, and you will find options for editing your opt-in preferences. Internet Protocol (IP) Addresses and Aggregated User Data We collect IP addresses from all Users of the Site, and collect and monitor other data and information about the activities of our Users on the Site collectively. We only use such data anonymously and in the aggregate. This data is not used to track or monitor personally identifiable information of individual Users. We gather and monitor this data to analyze trends, administer the Site, identify Users when they visit the Site, track Users' movements on the site and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. We may share this information with our partners so that they too may understand our User base and Site usage patterns, but only on a collective, aggregated basis and in a manner which does not reveal any personally identifiable information about any individual User. Cookies Cookies, which are small text files recorded in a User's hard drive, are employed by thousands of sites to enhance users' Web viewing experience. Cookies cannot damage user files, nor can they read information from a user's hard drive. Security The account containing your registration information, profile and resume is password protected, so only you and career center administrators (or third parties you provide your password to) can access your account. All personally identifiable information we collect about you is stored in limited-access servers. This Site has technical, administrative and physical security measures and safeguards in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. While we're committed to placing reasonable and appropriate safeguards to protecting your information against foreseeable risks, no computer system or information can ever be fully protected against every possible hazard. User Agreement Who May Use the Site? The Site may only be accessed and used by: Career center administrators and staff from colleges or universities who have licensed to offer this online Credential File Service. Students and alumni from licensed Schools who are seeking employment or are applying to graduate school. In no event may this Site be used or linked to by third party recruiters or by any party charging a fee for access to this Site or for access to any information gathered in this Site, including, but not limited to, employment clearing houses, employment placement/outplacement agencies, search firms, headhunters, temporary worker agencies, or employment consultants. Users under the age of 16 must provide their university with written permission from a parent or guardian prior to using the Site. Each User will select their own unique user name and password, which will enable such User (and only such User) to access and use those portions of the Site that they are authorized to use. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your password, and for all uses of your password or registration and all activities that occur under your password or account, whether or not authorized by you. Passwords are subject to cancellation or suspension upon the misuse of any password by any User. You agree to use your best efforts to prevent any third party from obtaining your password, and to inform us immediately of any actual or potential unauthorized use of or access to your password or to the Site. Acceptable Use of the Site The Site may only be used for lawful purposes to (a) manage and automate career center functions, (b) obtain career information and identify and apply for job opportunities, and (c) automate and manage on-campus and online college employment functions. Users shall only access and use the content, features and functionality of the Site which their password permits them to access and use. All Users are required to adhere to these Terms of Service, including the following requirements and guidelines: Legal Compliance & Posting Limitations Users must use the Site in accordance with all applicable international, federal, state and local laws, and may not post or transmit anything that would give rise to any civil or criminal liability for any party or otherwise violate any law. In furtherance of and without limiting the foregoing, Users specifically acknowledge and agree that they may not: Post or transmit any message, information, data, text, software or images, or other materials (collectively, "Content") that violates the copyright, privacy, confidentiality, publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or that reveals any information that should be known to the User to be confidential or a proprietary. Post or transmit Content that is false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, indecent, threatening, harassing, harmful, tortuous or otherwise objectionable or that could constitute an incitement to unlawful conduct. Post or transmit any incomplete, false or inaccurate biographical information or information which is not your own accurate resume. Impersonate any person or entity, including without limitation an employee or agent, an authorized user of these services, a candidate, a career center administrator or staff member or an employer, or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity. Post or transmit any Content that you do not have a right to reproduce, display or transmit under any law or under contractual or fiduciary relationships (such as nondisclosure agreements or the resume of an individual other than yourself). Delete or modify any material posted by any other person or entity not related to you. Communicate, send, or place unsolicited e-mail, telephone calls, mailings or other contacts to posting individuals and entities. Register an e-mail address that you do not own or for which you do not have the express permission of the owner to register. Although this site uses standard practices to protect your private and personal information it should be understood that it is not promised, and you should not expect, that all information will always remain private as third parties may unlawfully intercept electronic transmissions.
